Serena & Lily designs furnishings to endure for generations — to live beyond a single room, home, or owner. Our pieces are intended to beautifully mature, many enhanced by a natural patina over time. Beyond becoming beloved heirlooms, our quality offerings eliminate waste common to “fast furniture.” Our commitment to eco-friendly materials empowers our customers to take a step toward a more sustainable home.
Fast-growing, renewable materials are integral to our collection. We aim to utilize all parts of the rattan plant. The peel is used to weave decorative caning and panels, and to wrap furniture. The pole is soaked and bent to create furniture frames. The inner core has a consistent diameter that is used to weave and build out parts of a product’s framework.
Water hyacinth is a plant that grows abundantly, clogging water ways and compromising fishing and navigation. It must be cleared and harvested by hand to allow natural habitats to thrive. Our manufacturers then process and weave it into products that bring warm texture to any room.
From concept to creation, we exercise ethical business practices. We require vendors to sign a Code of Conduct and Environmental Impact Agreement to help ensure the health and safety of their workers. Our three outlet stores in California and South Carolina give a second life to imperfect product to divert it from landfill. Our upholstery is made in America with over 90% of the components supplied domestically to lessen our carbon footprint.
Our work is never done — our Environmental, Social, and Governance strategy drives us toward continued impact in the future. As we evolve, we will provide updates here. Join us in this journey.
